Last time it was me in a drugged-up haze for twelve days; this time it was my mother. Drugged-up haze is putting it lightly for her. She almost died from being over-sedated. But she’s home now, and doing well.

So here is the over-due conclusion to the blog tour, with my sincere apologies to Nancy, who is, at the moment, somewhere in Japan, I believe.

Monday we start the blog tour for Warriors in the Crossfire, by Nancy Bo Flood.

Warriors is a wonderful middle grade WWII novel, with a lyrical voice. I hope you all enjoyed reading it. I’m looking forward to your reviews of this one. It was haunting, wasn’t it?

Mary Ann Rodman’s JIMMY’S STARS was named to the National
Assoc. of Social Studies Teachers Best Trade Books list, as well as
Booklist’s 10 Best Historical Fiction books of 2008, and a Bank
Street College Best Book. Both SURPRISE SOUP (Viking) and A
TREE FOR EMMY (Peachtree) were published this spring…each
got starred reviews. And the paperback version of YANKEE GIRL
(Squarefish, December 2008) has made the 2009 spring Indie list.

I’m happy to read this because I loved Jimmy’s Stars and think Mary Ann Rodman is a great writer. I want more readers to find her.

I also loved this discussion between Noel, her sister Bree, and her cousin Marie, over at Never Jam Today. And what a surprise to find The Raucous Royals linked to Twilight. heh heh That Noel is ever the inventive one. But, I’ll have you know, Raucous has been above Twilight at Technorati for three days running. Take that, Stephenie Meyer.

Raucous Royals is a history book for middle grade kids–Amazon has it listed as being for four through eight-year-olds, but I’m sure they mean it’s for fourth through eighth graders.

More importantly, we’ve had some great posts.

Check out what Bellezza did with photos she took of the book. I love that. And she did a wonderful review. (Heh heh, now we know what kinds of book’s she likes we won’t send her anymore of the ones with bare breasts.)

Noel, at Never Jam Today, has done her usual, above and beyond posts, revealing the answers to secret questions we all had but were afraid to ask. She’s one of my all time favorite librarians. Check her out.

Becky, my favorite prolific reviewer, has put up a Thanksgiving Meme which I’m going to answer on my blog later today. She gets extra points for changing A mom pseaks to A mom speaks, also. Yeah for Becky who always posts on time, always does something interesting, and always gets her links in working order.

Kathy at Homeschool Buzz gave us traditions, recipes, crafts and even dug up what the Z stands for in Diane Z. Shore’s name.

Through the Looking Glass has a nice interview where Shore reveals a secret in learning how to write rhyming children’s books.

Quiverfull Family had a great review of the book.

Superfast Reader at Reading is My Superpower has been cracking me up this time with stories about Superfast Hubby and Superfast Toddler.

And I finish up with Sarah at Small World Reads who may have written the perfect post here. Not too long, full of helpful info, and inspiring on several levels. She makes me want to be a better mom, and she teaches me something by calling attention to details in the book I’d not noticed, and she makes me want to thank God, too.

If you’re interested in writing, read Becky Miller’s post over at A Christian Worldview of Fiction. In fact read all of her posts on Jimmy’s Stars. As she is wont to do, she dug a little deeper than most readers. Today she looks at Mary Ann Rodman’s adult characters to see what we can learn from the way they are painted and even from their philosophies.

My other favorite Becky blogger–this one from Becky’s Book Reviews–put a really cool post today. A playlist from Jimmy’s Stars. I love it! Go listen to some of those songs!

And do not fail to go over to Maw Book’s Blog, and check in on Natasha and Mary Ann today. What a hoot! They are cooking, and don’t those recipes sound yummy? Well, one actually does. What a great post. I love the creativity here.

Marya over at Through the Looking Glass Book Review has an interview up with a couple of new questions on it, as does Marie at Fireside Musings. I found all the interviews interesting. Each one brought out some new part of Mary Ann Rodman that I wasn’t previously aware of.
