Our gal Lyn wasn’t on the floor of the Colosseum much, but she was in the public arena fighting for her life throughout the book. She was in the spotlight, hounded by paparazzi and her life was affected by the swell and ebb of public opinion.

She was also manipulated by a company reminiscent of the company store in the old coal mining towns and pressured by a mother who was too weak to make good choices no matter how much she loved her kids.

This book was thought provoking and interesting and I enjoyed thinking about it and chatting about it for three days.

It’s a great addition to the YA section of your local bookstore.

First of all, in reading all the posts today, I came across an interview at Fireside Musings that gave Lise Haines’s web site. Shame, shame on me. I did a Google search on he name and it didn’t pull up a web site on the first page so I assumed she didn’t have one. I should have thought to put her name in as a URL. Duh! Thanks to the generous folks at Bloomsbury USA, our bloggers got an early look at this intriguing new novel and have already begun the discussion.
