Well, I am really impressed with the tour for The Year the Swallows Came Early, by Kathryn Fitmaurice. On the one hand I think it’s the first time we weren’t able to hit number one on Technorati. This was a small tour. But even if we had ten more bloggers on board we wouldn’t have been able to hit the number one slot. The book that was in that space while we were on tour had over fifty blogs posting.

heh heh Too bad they didn’t have a cover shot. I’m sure whoever gave all those books to the bloggers was spitting mad that the cover didn’t show up on Technorati.

We spent about 24 hours in number two slot, and another day shuffling between two and three. Today we’re still showing on the page in the twelfth spot.

Doesn’t Groovy just look like she’s on top of the world in that shot? Who cares that she wasn’t number one. Groovy knows the recognition will come when the time is right just as the swallows always come when the time is right.

But what I liked best about this tour was the amount of energy so many of you had. We had some great three-day posters, and even the one-day bloggers seemed to really like the book instead of just posting because they had to.

I’m glad because this book was lovingly crafted and it delivers on its promises.

I’m happy to see at Amazon that it’s picking up a lot of positive reviews. If any of you want to copy and paste your reviews over at Amazon, btw, that’s a good way to help authors you like and it’s also a good way to attract people to your blog. You can set up a profile where you give your web page address. Then when people like your reviews they can click on you to find more of your stuff.

So here’s the wrap up for a little, but gratifying, tour:

We had 34 posts over three days which included:

Day three! What a fun tour this has been.

Here are new links to new posts. I’ll start with the sites that are giving away a copy of the book. Kathryn has been quite generous in supplying books for giveaways. Here’s your chance, you Canadian bloggers who couldn’t get in on the tour because Harper Collins wouldn’t send you books. I hope you win a copy of this book, because it is really a great book and one you’ll want to blog about when you do read it.

So, you can win a copy at:

All About Children’s Books

Cafe of Dreams April valiantly posted today even though she spent much of the night at the hospital with a sick child. There’s dedication for you. And she said she was happy to do it because she liked this book so much. Keep that in mind when you vote on the three-day blogger who should win the Amazon gift certificate. =0)

Dolce Belezza who always has the most wonderful pictures on her site

Thanks, you all. This tour has been great!

So on the third day of the Something Wicked Blog Tour, the book did make it to number one on Technorati’s popular books page. (Click here for a full page view) That’s not bad for such a small tour as we did.

On day two, it was at number twelve when I checked and Something Rotten was on the page at 29.

Technorati is still not picking up most of our posts. I pinged them for all the blogs manually on day two and day three. They still didn’t get the posts. But we managed to get above the Hot chicks and even Seth Godin’s Tribes for a short time and it’s still on the front page at number 13 right now, the evening of day four. We did a good job on this.

We also had one contest for a book give-away, nine reviews, and three interviews. We linked to Alan’s free Something Rotten book, we discussed Macbeth and we read parts of the play.

We talked about teen sex and psychics and breasts, oh my.

We called Horatio, sexy, snarky, and smart, and found out that his creator, Mr. Gratz, wishes he was all those things, but feels he falls short in some areas. heh heh But we thought he sold himself short. We thought he was smart, witty, and a classy dude for sending a card, thanking us for taking part in his blog tour.

And a good time was had by all.

Thanks to those of you who took the time to write thoughtful posts, to contribute fresh, fun content, and to post three days. It’s a lot of work you’re putting in, I know it, and I appreciate it.
