Day one of the Savvy road trip has finally arrived.
I loved this book and I even like that we’re doing the tour so late in the day. I mean, Savvy is going to be a movie, it’s been on the NY Times best seller list. It’s won a Newbery Honor. So, like, duh. It’s a good book.
But the great thing about books like Savvy is that they last forever. I can read the book and fall in love with even after it’s been out for a year, and readers fifty years from now can do the same. There’s no shame in coming late to the library. Good books are always there on the shelf waiting for some new reader to lose himself in the story worlds.
So I’ve happily jumped on the bandwagon of Savvy lovers.
Let’s see what some of the other bloggers thought:
- Becky says the book offers meat that makes you think along with the entertainment.
- I posted my review. Here’s the short version and here’s the long version.
- The other Becky posted a review and she quoted one of the best lines I’ve ever read anywhere.
- April, who I have to say is one of the most enthusiastic, nicest people I’ve ever met, either in the cyber world or the real world, wants to know what your savvy is. (My own special ability is nagging the children.
) - Bellezza liked the book a lot.
- Marie has a fun interview.
- High praise coming from Marya.
- In keeping with Savvy’s fun voice, Noel gives us a fun review.
- Amy introduced her readers to the book via the book trailer.
- And over at Through a Child’s Eyes, SJ Kessel is asking us to come up dialogue for a couple of cute tattoos. It’s a lot harder than it looks.
OK that’s all I have for tour participants, today.
But that marketing guru, Shelli, happened to put an interview with Ingrid Law today. Perfect timing. (She’s a savvy marketer–you gotta admit.) Go and check out the interview.

I can totally picture this as a film. In several ways it reminded me of Little Miss Sunshine, but it’s MUCH better. Savvy, I mean.
