Jimmy’s Stars ~ First Tour Announcement

July 2nd, 2008 · 7 Comments

Jimmy's Stars coverI am very happy to tell you about the first book we are going to tour. I just read it last night and loved it. It’s called Jimmy’s Stars and it’s a middle grade novel written by Mary Ann Rodman.

I’m excited to offer this book for our first tour because it made me laugh, it made me cry, and it kept me up until 2:00 A.M. reading. These things move it onto my best-loved books list. I’m also excited to offer this book because we have some teachers and homeschoolers on the tour and this historical novel (WWII) is a great choice for classroom reading or for a family to read together. It is thought provoking and emotionally moving, and it opens the doors for discussion about war, honor, death, disability, patriotism, and more. Ellie didn’t find all the right answers, but she was “oh so lovable” as she struggled to survive and thrive in the midst of the terrible war.

To read more, please check out the book on Amazon. You can read the first chapter, or scroll down on this page to read the editorial reviews.

The tour will run from August 18th through the 20th. So, yee haw!–we’re going to pull out of the station on time. I’m loving it.

I’ll be sending out an email to bloggers tomorrow inviting participation and giving instructions. So check your spam filters and tell them to allow KidzBookBuzz.com email, please. If you don’t hear from me by tomorrow evening, feel free to email me.

Oh, I’m thrill Mary Ann Rodman will be our first author on tour! I absolutely loved Yankee Girl set in Mississippi and her new picture book My Best Friend also set in our hot humid State! Ew, do I have to wait until August 18th? :D

Lucky! I’ve not read Yankee Girl yet. Or any of her books. I’ve only just discovered her. Oh, I guess that makes me the lucky one. More to look forward to. =0)

No, you don’t have to wait until August 18th. The books should get to you all by July 18th.
